 KAFA (enough) Violence & Exploitation is a Lebanese non-profit, non-political, non-confessional civil society organization, established on the 8th of March 2005 by a group of activists and professionals who have long years of work experience in women issues, specifically in gender-based violence. The organization seeks to mitigate the causes and results of violence and exploitation of women and children through advocacy and lobbying, raising awareness, and by offering social and legal services to vulnerable cases. KAFA’s overall strategic goal is to contribute to the eradication of all sorts of domestic violence and exploitation of women and children. It focuses its strategies and efforts on three major areas: 1) Gender-based violence 2) Child sexual exploitation, and 3) Trafficking in women.  
In 2013, KAFA partnered with UNICEF in a project entitled “Protecting children and adolescents from Gender Based Violence” aiming at enhancing protection of vulnerable children and adolescents affected by the Syrian crisis from GBV (early marriage and sexual abuse) through promoting their right to information by improving their access to adequate services and their awareness on how to protect themselves from GBV.

During August and September 2013, four trainings are being held in Zahle, Tyre, Beirut and Qobayat on how to use the GBV toolkit with girls and boys aged between 8 and 17 years old with 80 service providers working with vulnerable children affected by the Syrian crisis in Bekaa, Beirut/Mount Lebanon, North and South. After the trainings, the trainees will implement the toolkit with children and parents in their centers. A coaching consultant will attend one of each of the trainee’s sessions.

Key responsabilites:
  • The consultant is expected to deliver on the following tasks:
  • Acquire thorough knowledge on KAFA and UNICEF’s toolkit on GBV in emergencies before the sessions.
  • Develop reporting monitoring tools on the coaching sessions.
  • Contact trainees to fix dates for the coaching sessions.
  • Be available to attend the sessions.
  • Deliver a report on each of the trainees’ coaching session.
  • Who this position reports to: Project coordinator
Key competencies:
  • Bachelor Degree in Counseling Psychology, Social Work, Public Health or related degrees;
  • Fluent in written and spoken Arabic and English;
  • At least 5 years of work experience in field work on the issues related to GBV and emergencies;
  • Strong and practiced skills in monitoring and coaching.
  • While working on a KAFA project, you are required to sign KAFA’s Child Protection Policy.
  • At least 5 years experience
  • Languages: Arabic: Fluent English: Fluent French: Good
  • Period: 2 months
