ABAAD PURPOSE:
ABAAD aims at achieving gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region. ABAAD has a proven record in working in addressing GBV in emergency settings.

The Syrian Voice and Accountability Project is a two-year programme implemented by ABAAD-Resource Centre for Gender Equality in Lebanon and ARDD-Legal Aid in Jordan in partnership with Oxfam. The project aims at empowering approximately 33,000 Syrian men and women to become agents in their communities and lives though enhancing the preparedness of Syrian refugees to constructively engage in humanitarian, development and political processes.
 
JOB PURPOSE:
To work closely with the Project Manager on the implementation of the project and management of partners under the project the Syrian Voice and Accountability.

DIMENSIONS:
Delegated authority to supervise the three community mobilizers and delegated projects/activities.
Required to make sound judgments regularly within agreed processes using a good understanding of the team and the facilities of the team.
Communication is largely with internal staff, also with some external contacts and target audiences to support operational work.
Analysis and communication of some complex information at a simple level is required to a wide audience to promote and influence.

Key responsabilites:
  • Contribute to the project implementation in line with the agreed action plan with the project Manager and project partners, and ensure timely responses;
  • Facilitate the implementation of ABAAD implemented activities through coordination with the local community mobilizers and with partners in Lebanon and Jordan;
  • Support the project manager with the development of various TORs and support with recruitment of consultants and ensure the qualifications match the scope of the work/assignment;
  • Consolidate reports on the project implemented activities and enhance learning;
  • Facilitate learning and linkages among local staff and partner organizations;
  • Assist in the preparation of partners' contracts, and amendments when deemed necessary
  • Contribute to the periodic monitoring of the project as well as learning reviews and ensure proper documentation;
  • Capture learning and document the work of successful stories, to ensure that the project inputs are producing positive results in the lives of women;
  • Participate in the meetings with the project stakeholders as requested by the project manager;
  • Conduct administrative tasks, and coordinate activities to support the national and regional events as planned, including training, workshops and conferences;
  • Prepare payment requests, floats as needed;
  • Provide efficient, effective administrative support e.g. filing, typing and logistic to the Project Manager;
  • Lead on specific training for partners;
  • Assist in other tasks as requested by the Project Manager and as deemed necessary for programme development.
Key competencies:
  • University degree in social science or related discipline, including gender and development;
  • Proven track record of working in a similar capacity with the nation and international NGOs in the region;
  • Experience in event management and coordination;
  • Highly skilled in report writing;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic including demonstrable ability to work with others and as part of a team;
  • Knowledge of gender and gender equality;
  • Knowledge and skills in computer usage including word, excel, power point, and social media;
  • Willingness to travel for sustained periods of time;
  • Good organizational skills;
  • Effective member of team and role model; demonstrates creativity in seeking better ways to do things and shares with team, and promotes high standards.
  • Takes responsibility for own work and delegated project/processes (including some leadership);
  • Anticipates problems and regularly provides solutions.
