Building women's skills in Tripoli: A project of the Safadi Foundation and the Women’s Academy

04-07-2013

The Safadi Foundation published a statement yesterday in which it announces the launch of its programme for 2013 within the framework of its Women Programme which is implemented by the Women Academy hosted in Dahr el Mgharr, Qebbe in Tripoli.  The programme seeks to empower women in poor and marginalised and poor areas while intervening at the individual, family, economic and national levels.
The statement notes that the programme was launched in Dahr el Mgharr of last month and targeted women in the local neighborhood committee.  This was carried out with the aim of building the capacities of the ten women members of the local committee, engaging them in the process of identifying and prioritising community problems, subsequently writing development projects and suggesting ways to implement them.  A number of training activities were thus implemented over one entire month and included the training on community mobilisation that was run by experts in the field.
