The head of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture for Tripoli and the North, Toufic Daboosi, signed on September 16 a partnership agreement with Care International- Lebanon, represented by Gul Rehman, deputy country director-program support. The aim of the WFP-supported project is to provide assistance to dairy producers and cattle farmers (mainly goats and sheep); training producers to develop their know-how and provide beneficiaries who successfully completed their courses with technical equipment to improve their manufacturing practice. On the occasion, the Chamber’s administration indicated in a statement that its laboratories and the Industrial Development and Agro-Food Research Center will play a vital role in observing quality standards and specifications in terms of production and food safety. They will also contribute to the development of a productive program that is of exceptional importance in light of the current economic crisis, namely food security. (Al Diyar, September 17, 2020)
