Graduation in Safadi Accelerated Vocational Training Center

15-12-2017

The Safadi Foundation celebrated yesterday the graduation of the first group of trainees from the Accelerated Vocational Training Center. The event coincided with the official launching ceremony of the Center and its first ‘accelerated vocational training for the economic integration of Tripoli youth’ project funded by the Regional Development and Protection Programme for Refugees and Host Communities in Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq (RDPP). The latter aims at improving the vocational skills of young people and facilitate their economic integration through the generation of employment in Tripoli and the North. On the occasion, former minister Mohamad Safadi described the Center as an oasis of hope for students who are receiving training on occupations largely related to the construction industry, stressing the need to find jobs for them. Today, Safadi said, 22 young persons have completed training courses out of around 1000 potential annual graduates and they are already working and producing. In his address to the fresh graduates, he said: “Your response through registration and training is a clear message that the Tripoli youth lives and loves life and looks forward to a bright future,” adding that the beneficiaries will receive an experience certificate signed by Tripoli and the North Bar Association and the Safadi Foundation.
