Description:

ActionAid Arab Regional Initiative (ARI) has been working with partners in the ARAB region to promote and support the community to establish their fundamental and democratic rights. ARI currently works in three countries in the Arab Region: Jordan, where the Regional Office is placed; Lebanon, and Egypt, with offices managed by Country Programme Coordinators. ARI has an ambition to expand to other countries in the MENA region during the years to come.
 

Key responsabilites:
  • Supports the ERP activities by providing operational and programme support at the Field.
  • Guides and support partner to mobilize the community and form community circles as proposed in the project plan.
  • Provides technical guidance and resources support to the partner to integrate the thematic areas at the community circle level
  • Supports the partner in promoting networks of the community circles and organize regular planning and monitoring meetings
  • Supports the focal points of PSS, NFI, Education, and Protection at the community circles and build their capacity
  • Ensures proper documentation of the activities at the community mobilization activities
  • Supports the ERP Officer and Co-ordinator according to ARI’s norms and policies
  • Ensures effective coordination of ERP activities and other related work  with UNHCR and other stakeholders concerned clusters and as determined by the ERP Officer
  • Helps the line manager in the preparation of monthly and weekly reports. Provides statistical information to the line manager as/ and when required for the decision making purposes
  • Makes sure that volunteers are in the Field to implement the scheduled programmes
  • Assists ERP Officer in maintaining inventory, stationery and other requirements for the Office along with ERP Admin & Logistics Assistant
  • Organise  workshops, seminars, symposium the local level  as and when required liaising with ERPO
  • Performs such other duties as may be assigned
Key competencies:
  • Proven analytical skills and ability to identify needs;
  • Good computer skills and ability to use Microsoft programmes (Excel, access, word, outlook …etc) to organize work, prepare plans and create monthly reports;
  • Team player and initiative to work well independently;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Organization skills
  • A university degree in any social science or development study, or any other related fields
  • At least three years’ experience in social work in the Field and administration
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic
  • Working experiences in Emergency response.
Contract terms:

The incumbent will be paid a gross salary 890 USD per month. And will be entitled for health insurance by employer.

Key responsabilites:

The following task must be carried out in cooperation with the Programs Manager and the Country Director of Welfare Association – Lebanon Branch:
 

  1. Regular technical and administrative management of the project component(s) to be implemented in Lebanon.
  2. Supervise the regular implementation of the activities as scheduled in the project proposal and coordinate the activities directly implemented by field staff/partners.
  3. Participate in coordination meetings organized by international and local agencies.
  4. Report on the progress of the activities.
  5. Support the Programs Manager in identifying and developing new project proposals in the emergency sector.
  6. Lead the budget planning and preparation, and control expenditures.
  7. Ensure procurement of all requisite materials and supplies in accordance with WA procurement procedures.
  8. Supervise and facilitate the implementation of needed logistics for visits, travel, etc.
  9. Maintain excellent relations with stakeholders internally and with field staff, partner organisations, volunteers and beneficiaries.
  10. Supervise program and project implementation through:
  • Maintaining regular contact with field staff, volunteers and beneficiary organizations, and conduct regular field visits to program sites in Lebanon.
  • Soliciting and reviewing technical and financial reports from beneficiary organisations/partners, and following up on issues needing further clarifications or additional supporting documents.
  • Monitoring the implementation process to ensure the achievement of program / project deliverables in terms of both time and quality.
  • Ensuring proper program and project closure including the design and implementation of internal and external program evaluations
  • Regular visits (minimum 50% of time spent in the field) to the targeted gatherings to support field-based staff in implementing the various planned activities and monitor activities’ impact.
  • Weekly meetings with all project staff to discuss project progress and challenges and review accordingly.
  • Collection of photos, attendance sheets, and success stories to document implementation of activities
  1. Reporting: Compiling full reports for WA & OCHA according to required formats and procedures.
  2. Assist in reporting for other projects funded by external donors when requested.
Key competencies:
  • Work experience in INGOs in similar roles;
  • Familiarity with the PRS and Syrian refugee context in Lebanon;
  • Previous experience working in a humanitarian/relief context (desirable);
  • Previous community outreach experience (desirable);
  • Familiarity with water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) issues in an emergency setting (desirable);
  • Fluency in English and Arabic (spoken and written).
  • Driving license
  • Experience required: 3 to 5 years
  • Education degree: Bachelor Degree
