Description:

L'Institut Européen de Coopération et de Développement (IECD) is a French development organization operating in the field of international solidarity. It has been present in Lebanon since 1989. Today, IECD and its local partners implement several programme for professional integration support, access to education, support to small enterprises and health care projects.

Key responsabilites:
  • Overall coordination of the training sessions and the follow up visits in the school.
  • Implement individual visits to medical and social care providers (health centers, pharmacies, hospitals and private doctors) in order to inform and train them on the importance of early diagnosis and guidance of children with special needs
  • Set up a referral system to improve the provision of diagnosis and care for children with special needs
  • The first step will be the creation of a mapping of the available services in the Mount Lebanon and Saida regions in order to disseminate accurate information to all medical and social care providers, as well as educational institutions.
  • Monitor activities related to the partners and the management of the specialists and educators that will be involved in one or several activities with the schools (participation in the monthly trainings, follow up visits, animation of sessions).


Regarding the partners, this activity will mainly consist in gathering and updating the following information:

  • Basic information about each partner institution (contact of director/ referent/ educators involved in training programme; number of classes/ children/ number of detected cases of learning disabilities/ type of facilities etc.)
  • Updated information on activities implemented with each partner and problems encountered (parents’ groups, follow-up visits, needs assessment, etc.)
  • Qualitative information on the effective application of inclusive learning methods in class (baseline situation and evolution according to reports from referents)
Key competencies:
  • Education: Graduate in project management, in education or any related field with at least two years of experience
  • Experience: previous working experience in the refugees’ camps and good knowledge of the Lebanese formal and non-formal educational system
  • Interests: interested in youth with learning disabilities and refugees issues
  • Good coordination and organization skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and willingness to enter the Palestinian camps
  • Good team player
  • Autonomous, driving license mandatory
  • Arabic and fluency in English and/or French
Contract terms:

Status: 3 years contract, with a 3 month probation period
Under the supervision of: Head of Project

KAFA (enough) Violence & Exploitation is a Lebanese non-profit civil society organization committed to work towards eradicating all forms of gender-based violence and exploitation of women through advocating for legal reform and change of policies and practices, influencing public opinion, and empowering women and children.

Our focus areas are those of:

Key responsabilites:
  • Develop fundraising and networking strategy for the work of KAFA in collaboration with the Director of KAFA;
  • Work with Heads of Units and Chief of Finance to translate annual budgets into operational Fundraising plans and targets;
  • Identify and secure opportunities for potential donors and sources of income for the different existing and new programs at KAFA;
  • Identify opportunities for income generating activities;
  • Identify and approach corporate prospects, securing financial contributions when needed
  • Design and write proposals and applications for the different programs at KAFA;
  • Manage efforts aimed at raising funds through KAFA’s website and potential membership base;
  • Support Director and Heads of Units in maintaining relations with different donors and sponsors;
  • Maintain a proposals and donors database;
  • Assist in preparing progress and final reports to donors;
  • Prepare the annual report of KAFA;
  • Regularly liaise with Heads of Units and communications Coordinator for a coordinated strategy.
Key competencies:
  • Masters’ degree in social sciences, law, or communications or marketing;
  • A minimum of five years of fundraising and grant writing experience is required, preferably in the field of NGOs;
  • Ability to understand and generate budgets;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Arabic;
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and work well under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Gender sensitivity and knowledge of violence against women is required.
Contract terms:

Contract period: One year renewable upon satisfaction of both KAFA and the contracted person.

Key responsabilites:

The Shelter engineer is responsible to oversee the implementation of the shelter component of the emergency project in the field. He/she is expected to:

  •  Monitor and supervise the technical  implementation of Welfare Association Shelter project in the area of intervention;
  • Ensure the quality of technical implementation of the project according to the programs’ agreed criteria and based on the technical plan (including BoQs, and implementation plan…);
  • Manage and oversee the daily laborers’ work and provide them with technical guidance;
  • Continuously evaluate the relevant shelter activities and ensure effective use of resources in close collaboration with the Project coordinator;
  • Ensure labor safety and security in the field;
  • Ensure smooth communication with the key stakeholders in the area of intervention and share relevant recommendations with the Project coordinator;
  • Report weekly project progress to Project coordinator according to the set monitoring plan.
Key competencies:
  • Educational background in civil engineering, with ideally with a focus on rehabilitation and reconstruction;
  • A minimum of 5 years professional experience with extensive experience in managing and implementing NGO-led rehabilitation programs;
  • Familiarity with the non-profit and aid system;
  • Strong organizational and supervisory skills;
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure;
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse groups of people;
  • Working knowledge of computers using MS Word, Excel among other software. Proficiency in internet use and email applications.
  • Arabic: Fluent in spoken Arabic;
  • English: Good command in spoken and written English.
Contract terms:

The Service contract is to be laid out over 2 months, for immediate recruitment.
Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s work experience and qualifications.
